Stop and Frisk the numbers

The New York City Police Department – NYPD had a crime prevention program routinely called “stop and frisk.”  Liberal malcontents took the City to Federal court to stop, curtail, or modify this crime prevention program. 

The claim was the police in this program stopped and frisked mostly black and Hispanics.  The claim was 80% of those stopped were black and Hispanic when they only represented 51.4% of the city’s population.  U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin (appointed by President Clinton – Democrat) ruled the program as exists was unconstitutional.  Giving one of the reasons about 80% stopped were black and Hispanic when that number does not correspond with their population numbers.

But here is where that number does correspond with where the judge and malcontent liberals ignore:  The NYPD in their statistical reporting of crimes show blacks and Hispanics committed close to if not over 80% of the crimes reported.   

Assaults: 87.3%

Firearm Arrests: 94.7%
Grand Larceny: 85.9%
Murder: 88.5%
Rape: 85.8%
Robbery: 94.3%
Sex Crimes: 80.7%
Shootings: 97.1%

Population of the City of New York 2010:

American Indian: 0.2%
Asian / Pacific Islanders: 12.6%
Black: 22.8%
White: 33.3%
Hispanic: 28.6%
