Arizona Governor bullied over
marriage equality (same sex
marriage)
Republican Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona capitulated to
bullies over legislation enacted to protect business owners from being forced
to engage in business that runs into conflict with their religious beliefs. Basically protecting the protected right
under the United States Constitution in the First Amendment, which reads in
part:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”
Forcing shop owners to provide products and / or services to
an activity contrary to their religious beliefs runs afoul of “….or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof…” (Part of the First Amendment to the United States
Constitution).
According to the bullies it is wrong for a business to not provide
a product or service for a marriage equality ceremony because of religious
beliefs. These groups who want their
beliefs to be tolerated refuse to tolerate another’s belief. They see the Christians as being anti-gay
when in fact the bullies are behaving as anti-Christian.
Case in point: Muslim
taxi cab drivers who refuse to provide service to people with alcohol or dogs,
claiming to do so would violate their religious beliefs. There has been no objection offered by the
same liberals who bullied Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. How about a little consistency by these
anti-Christian liberals?
The full text of the First Amendment:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and
to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
