South China Sea, USA allies are?

South China Sea, USA allies are?

The United States Navy vessel USS Lassen recently asserted freedom of navigation by sailing within China’s imposed twelve mile territory limit off an artificial island.

By claiming twelve nautical miles off their artificial islands China is violating the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.  To maintain navigational freedom in international waters and freedom of navigation the United States sent the destroyer USS Lassen to sail within twelve miles of China’s artificial islands built within stolen waters.

Japan and Australia good allies issued statements of support for the U.S. naval action in the South China Sea.  Two other U.S. allies in Asia reacted as follows:

The headline appeared on The Korea Times dated 29 October 2015 read:

“Korea calls for restraint in South China Sea”

Hey South Korea why did you not call for “restraint” when the Chinese stole the territory in the South China Sea?  You only call for “restraint” when the United States moves to protect freedom of navigation.  Now please tell me how that “ally” thing works between South Korea and the United States.   The article reflects the response from South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s office.

Did President Park off the same advice of “restraint” when her dictator friend in Communist-led China was aggressively occupying territories illegally in the South China Sea?  Did she not want to offend her more-than-just a friend the dictator of China?  “More-than-just a friend” is speculation.

The United States maintains 28,000 troops in South Korea to protect her and the people of South Korea.  If those troops have to defend South Korea will she call for “restraint?”  How is it she treats China the country responsible for a divided Korea more as an ally than the USA responsible for her nation being free of Communism?

By claiming twelve nautical miles off their artificial islands China is violating the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.  To maintain navigational freedom in international waters and freedom of navigation the United States sent the destroyer USS Lassen to sail within twelve miles of China’s artificial islands built within stolen waters.

China’s interest in these islands has more to do with oil, gas, and fishing than it does with national integrity.  These are the conflicts of the 21st century we can look forward to with the commies in China initiating and or instigating conflicts.
