Prime Minister Abe and that NGO

Prime Minister Abe and that NGO

In 2017 a NGO International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons – ICAN was awarded the once prestigious Nobel Peace Prize.  Whoopee!!!!

In recent years that prize was awarded to the following illustrating the worthlessness of this once prestigious award:

Yasser Arafat (Mohammed Yasser Abdel Rahman Abdel Raouf Arafat al-Qudwa) the Palestinian terrorist was awarded the prize in 1994.

Al Gore (Albert Arnold Gore Jr.) was award in 2007, the same year Irena Sendler was nominated for the award.  Ms. Sendler was a Polish Catholic social worker in Nazi occupied Warsaw, Poland during World War Two Ms. Sendler was responsible for saving the lives of 2,500 Jewish infants from Nazi extermination.  Irena was caught by the Nazis, beaten, and tortured.  She managed to escape and lived till May, 2008.  The bums at the Nobel Peace Prize felt Al Gore was more deserving.  Al Gore should have declined the award in deference to Irena Sendler.  However the snake oil salesman accepted the award for a hoax he hoisted on the world.

President Barack Obama (Barack Hussein Obama II) received the award in 2009.  President Obama received the award not for what he did to advance peace, but for the potential he had as a newly elected president.

The award going to Yasser Arafat, Al Gore, and President Obama rendered the award worthless.  The ICAN group after winning the award traveled the world visiting with leaders of various nations to advance their goal of banning nuclear weapons.  A representative of this group recently visited the peace parks in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Japan (the two cities destroyed by two atomic bombs in 1945, ending World War Two in the Pacific theater).

The ICAN lady representative then wanted to meet with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe 安倍 to discuss ways to ensure nuclear weapons will not be used again.  Huh?  Japan is the only nation where atomic bombs where used on the population, Shinzo Abe was born and raised in Japan, and the nation of Japan in the past seventy-three years has been in the forefront of the anti-nuclear weapons movement. Do they need this NGO group to lecture them?

Mr. Abe’s office had to decline the offer of having a meeting with the ICAN representative siting a tight schedule.  This caused a media storm and the NGO expressing regret.  How come this group did not take their Nobel Peace Prize to Iran, North Korea, or China to discuss nuclear disarmament?

Blame Shinzo Abe, not Moon Jae-in

Blame Shinzo Abe, not Moon Jae-in

In 2015 South Korean President Park Geun-hye concluded an agreement with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.  The agreement involved Japan once again issuing a “sincere” apology and paying more money again (extortion).  This was to put the issue to bed and never arise again.  Not so fast….

President Park was soon disposed of and replaced by President Moon Jae-in.  President Moon announced the 2015 Comfort Women agreement was not valid and needed to be renegotiated.  This ignorant announcement caused Mr. Abe to consider not attending the opening ceremonies for the February, 2018 winter Olympics being held in South Korea.  Correctly known as: XXIII Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as PyeongChang 2018.

On 12 January, 2018 The Maninichi newspapers issued an editorial titled:

“PM Abe should attend Pyeongchang Games opening ceremony.”

The fourth paragraph to that editorial reads:

“That said, the Japanese government should be cautious about bringing any political conflict into the "festival of peace" that the Olympic Games are. If Prime Minister Abe abstained from attending the opening ceremony, it would leave a strong impression of soured Japan-South Korea relations both at home and abroad. And if Tokyo's estrangement from Seoul becomes conspicuous, it would only end up serving the interests of the North Korean regime.”

“….Japanese government should be cautious about bringing any political conflict into the ‘festival of peace’……….”

No mention of the South Korean government being political with the Comfort Women issue so close to this “festival of peace.”

“……strong impression of soured Japan-South Korea relations….”

The “soured Japan-South Korea relations” is a result of the government of South Korea’s actions.  Mr. Abe and Japan were only reacting to an action initiated by the government in Seoul.

“…..it would only end up serving the interests of the North Korean regime.”

This caution should be aimed at President Moon Jae-in, not at Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Due to this Comfort Women obsession exploited by the South Korean Comfort Women Mafia this issue will always be a burr in the saddle for Japan.

Subsequently the South Korean government announced:

Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha said her government will not seek the renegotiation of the December 2015 agreement.
