Wedding denied for a black couple
Charles Wilson and Te’Andrea Henderson Wilson attend
regularly services at a predominantly white church in Mississippi, “The First
Baptist Church of Crystal Springs.”
The couple planned to get married at the church. A day before the wedding the pastor notified
the couple they would not be able to get married at the church because of
objections placed by white members of the congregation. Huh?
It was okay to accept their tithing (money put in the collection each
week), but not okay to have a ceremony for the couple?
Shame!
