It has been reported (see below links) that Mr. Watson fled
Germany in defiance of a German court and 250,000 euros bail paid by his
minions around the world. This whole
situation is somewhat suspect. Although Watson’s
past activities have been labeled stupid by many, it is difficult to believe he
would be this stupid as to jump bail from Germany.
Thinking is perhaps this is a stunt for the showman to get
publicity. Publicity is the blood in his
veins and the lining of their bank account.
If Watson did jump bail and ran the safest place for him
right now would be Tokyo. The Japanese
would be delighted to house him in a Japanese jail, thus helping him avoid what
he fears most, a jail in Costa Rica.

I think this is a PR stunt and he is really still safely in Germany. The only reports I have been able to find are from a few Costa Rican sites, nothing from the SSCS and nothing in the German press.
Plus although he is a buffoon, he isn't completely stupid. If he skips bail in Germany then he won't be safe anywhere when Germany issues a warrant for his arrest.
