Will the fugitive Paul Watson get asylum Downunder (Australia)?

Sea Shepherd has enjoyed popular support in Australia.  Australian ports have been used by Sea Shepherd to launch their illegal activities in the Southern Ocean.

With Paul Watson being an international fugitive wanted on three continents, he is seeking asylum.  Speculation was he or his organization was exploring the possibility of purchasing political asylum from two South American countries.  Now it has been reported Australian “Green” former leader Bob Brown has contacted the office of Foreign Minister Bob Carr attempting to grant fugitive Watson asylum in Australia.

Can you say, “Waltzing with Matilda?”
