Latin America Journalists

Recently in The Dallas Morning News appeared an article from their Mexican bureau titled, “Latin America urged to protect journalists.”

The article was a report of a U.S. Congressional sub-committee hearing addressing the safety of journalist in Latin America. The sub-committee name: Western Hemisphere subcommittee of the Foreign Relations Committee, headed by Representative Eliot Engel Democrat from New York.

Why is a U.S. Congressional sub-committee holding hearings on what is happening to Latin American journalist in Latin America? Are there not enough problems and concerns in the USA for this committee to concern itself with?

The USA facing economic collapse, huge debt, rising unemployment, two wars, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the Obama regime, all seem to be of less importance than the plight of journalist in Latin America. Further proof the political class in the USA is out of touch.

Remember come the next Congressional Elections this November 2, 2010, time to vote these bums out and reclassify that day as: Free America Day.
