Olympic Medals, a different analysis
The 2012 London Olympics is over and the medal count final,
hopefully. The United States of America
(USA) won the most medals at 104. While
the Chinese won 87 medals.
An analysis of the populations and medals count provides a
different outcome. One nation with a
larger population than another has a large pool of athletes to select from,
thus enhancing their ability to earn more medals, more gold.
Based upon an analysis of medals visa vie the nation’s
population, it is Australia that comes in at number one. Australia earned one medal for every 620
thousands citizens, while it took China 15 million people to earn a medal.
