Honor killing in Pakistan
In Pakistan a father and daughter walking, a boy on a
motorcycle drives by, the 15 year old looks in the direction of the
motorcyclist. The father scolds her, she
apologizes. The father then throws acid
on her causing her death.
This type of heinous crime is cultural rooted in
self-righteous male dominance anchored in a ritual long abandoned by civilized
people centuries ago. In 2011 it was
reported there were over 900 such murders committed. The parents at this writing were in
jail.
