Sea Shepherd enriches the whalers with
$2.55 million
Sea Shepherd agreed to pay the Institute of Cetacean
Research – ICR $2.55 million. The ICR is
the umbrella group over the Japanese whaling activity. They sued Sea Shepherd claiming the cult
group violated a December, 2012 injunction order by the Ninth Circuit Court of
Appeals in the USA. The
Subsequently Sea Shepherd USA transferred their sea-going assets
to Sea Shepherd Australia in an attempt to circumvent the Court’s
injunction. The subterfuge did not deter
the Ninth Circuit Court from ruling that is exactly what Sea Shepherd did and
was about to award the ICR around $5 million in compensation.
The floating circus is claiming the payoff to the whalers is
not money from sucker donations. But the money comes from litigation money awarded to them.
Huh?
Just what litigation has resulted in a monetary advantage to the cult
group?
Another pending law suit against Sea Shepherd is one brought
by Ady Gil for around $4.5 million. What
happens if Mr. Gil is awarded a judgement will Sea Shepherd have the
funds?
