Teachers walk out on their students

Teachers walk out on their students

Teachers in Oklahoma and Kentucky at the urging of their unions: Oklahoma Education Association OEA, and Kentucky education Association KEA, rallied in their state capitals.  Their main stated reason was for pay.  Among the nations of the earth teachers in the USA as a whole rank 5th in teacher pay.

Now compare that with test scores of their students compared to students around the globe:
USA students in math rank 41.
USA students in reading rank 24.
USA students in science rank 25.

That is a large unacceptable gap between pay and results.  Pay raises should be anchored in student rankings, not based on who could be animated at state capitals.
