This is a video take by the Japanese clearly showing the Chinese fishing vessel Minjinyu 5179 purposely ramming into a Japanese patrol boat. The ramming happens around 2:12 in the video.
This happened near a group of islands called Senkaku or Diaoyu. This group of islands are disputed as to their sovereignty between the three nations.
The fishing vessel was taken into custody along with the 14 sailors and the captain, Captain Zhan Qixiong. Soon afterwards the Japanese released the vessel and all of the crew.
that was clearly a provocative act.
